Tigers Drop 3-0 Decision At NCAC Rival Denison

GRANVILLE, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers held up well under an offensive barrage by the host Denison Big Red before falling 3-0.

Denison improved to 10-1 overall and 8-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Wittenberg dropped to 5-8 overall and 3-5 in the league.

The Big Red attempted 16 shots in the first half and another 15 in the second half, compared to a total of five for Wittenberg in the entire game. Denison also held a commanding 13-3 advantage in penalty corner opportunities.

Freshman goalkeeper Laura Jansing (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) was credited with 12 saves in the game. In addition, freshman defender Clare Grady (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) contributed a defensive save.

On offense, junior Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) led with three shots. Junior Beth Warning (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) and freshman Eva van Dijkman (Den Haag, Netherland/Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet) added one shot apiece.
