SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - For a third straight home game, the Wittenberg Tigers were unable to generate much offense in a 1-0 loss to North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) rival Ohio Wesleyan.

Wittenberg dropped to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the NCAC with the loss, the team's third straight after a 2-0 start to the league schedule. In those three losses, the Tigers have scored just one goal.

The Battling Bishops evened their record at 4-4 overall while pulling even with the Tigers in the league standings at 2-3.

The star of the game for Wittenberg was freshman goalkeeper Sarah Brownell (Ocnomowoc, Wis./University Lake School), who was credited with 11 saves, including several from close range. The Bishops solved the Tiger defense just once in the game, but it turned out that first-half score was all OWU would need.

Junior Kim Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) led Wittenberg with three shots in the game, while junior Megan Loofbourrow (Prospect, Ky./Ballard) and junior Casey Fry (Chelsea, Mich./Chelsea) added two shots apiece. However, the Tigers managed to direct just four of their 10 shots on goal.
