LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Wittenberg Tigers made the long ride home from central Kentucky a happy one with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over host Transylvania.

The Tigers improved to 4-11 overall, while the Pioneers fell to 1-12. The win was Wittenberg's second in a row, heading into a string of three straight North Coast athletic Conference (NCAC) games on the home turf at Edwards-Maurer Field.

Wittenberg got off to a slow start in each half, allowing a goal 11:27 into the opening 35 minutes and 6:14 in the closing frame. In the first half, it was freshman Tiffany McKenna (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) who came up with the equalizer in the 27th minute. In the second half, sophomore Audrey Phibbs (Kettering, Ohio/Fairmont) did the honors with a tally in the 52nd minute.

The game-winner came at the 65:32 mark off McKenna's stick. The Tigers outshot Transylvania 17-6 in the game, including a whopping 8-1 margin in the second half.

Defensively, Wittenberg was paced by junior Alie Marousek (Pittsburgh, Pa./Portsmouth (NH)), who was credited with two saves while facing six Transylvania shots in the game.
