GAMBIER, Ohio - Despite a strong second half, the Wittenberg Tigers were unable to climb out of a first-half hole and ended up absorbing a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Kenyon Ladies.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 2-11 overall and 2-8 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Kenyon remained on the inside track for a berth in the NCAC Tournament with records of 8-6 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

Kenyon jumped on top with three goals in a span of less than four minutes midway through the first half. Wittenberg responded with goals in the 37th and 47th minutes as senior Kellen Morrissey (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) scored off a penalty corner and freshman Tiffany McKenna (Belvidere, NJ/Belvidere) tallied unassisted.

The Ladies put the game out of reach in the final minute, however. For the game, Kenyon outshot Wittenberg 26-11 and attempted 11 penalty corners to Wittenberg's five. Junior goalkeeper Alie Marousek (Pittsburgh, Pa./Portsmouth (NH)) came up big with 10 saves in the contest, compared to four for her Kenyon counterpart.
