Tigers Continue Dominance With Easy Win Over Centre College

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers continued their stellar play as they easily defeated Centre College 5-1. The Tigers dominated the game from start to finish as their defense smothered yet another opponent.

The Tigers jumped out to an early lead in the first half as sophomore Katy Barrett pushed across the first two goals of the game. Her second goal came with just two minutes left in the half off a beautiful assist from freshman Claire Johnson

Despite Centre's attempt to make it close with a goal at the forty-seven minute mark, Wittenberg continued to dominate in the second half. Senior Blair Ufer scored the first of her two goals with twelve minutes to go in the contest to push the score to 3-1. Just four minutes later sophomore Katy Barrett recorded the first hat-trick of her career with a goal assisted by senior Sarah Wallace. Even with a three goal lead the Tigers refused to let their opponent breathe as senior Blair Ufer scored her second goal of the game with just twelve seconds remaining.

Defensively the Tigers controlled the field and shutdown Centre's offense. The Tiger defense was able to limit their opponent to just three shots on goal, compared to twenty-seven taken by Wittenberg.
