Wittenberg Wins Big Over Ohio Wesleyan

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Tigers turned in another dominating performance at home on Wednesday night, defeating visiting North Coast Athletic Conference rival Ohio Wesleyan, 5-0. Senior midfielder Blair Ufer was the catalyst offensively as she enjoyed a stellar performance, tallying two goals and two assists to lead the Tigers to their second straight 5-0 victory.

Wittenberg went ahead early and stayed there after sophomore Katy Barrett finished a feed from Ufer just seven minutes into the game. Sophomore Rachel Dunn recorded a goal and assist, while senior Carrie Happ contributed two assists. Senior Sarah Wallace chipped in an unassisted goal for the Tigers to give them a commanding lead.

In goal, freshman Nicole Irvin racked up her fifth shutout on the season.

The Tigers will be back in action Friday as they continue conference play by hosting Oberlin at 4 p.m. The Tigers and the Yeowomen were two-third of a tri-championship during the 2003 regular season, and they enter this week's contest tied for first place again in 2004. It is the first meeting between the two schools this season.
