Kevin Hoyng joined Wittenberg's football coaching staff in 2014.

He arrived at Wittenberg after five years at his alma mater, the University of Dayton. He coached the tight end position for three seasons and the quarterback position in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. He has been involved in all facets of the Dayton football program, which competes in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision.

A native of Coldwater, Ohio, Hoyng was a record-breaking quarterback for the Flyers from 2003-07. During that time, he led Dayton to a Pioneer Football League championship and earned Offensive Player of the Year honors following the 2007 season. He holds numerous school records, and he earned three First-Team All-Academic PFL awards.

After graduating from Dayton in 2007 and participating in the Cleveland Browns’ rookie mini-camp as a defensive back in 2008, Kevin spent one year as a seventh-grade math teacher in the Northmont School District near Dayton. He served as a varsity assistant and the freshman team’s offensive coordinator during the 2008 season.

Hoyng is a native of Coldwater, Ohio.
