After spending the last two season's as a defensive assistant coach at NCAA Div. I Dayton, Dave Marquis is returning to Wittenberg University, effective April 1, 2019, as the Defensive Coordinator for the Football Program. Marquis previously worked for Wittenberg for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, also serving as the Defensive Coordinator in 2016.

In his first stint with Wittenberg, He arrived on campus after spending the previous two seasons at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va. He coached linebackers and served as the special teams coordinator for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Marquis spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Dayton, working with the defensive ends. Marquis went to Dayton after a stint at his alma mater, Kent State, where he was a graduate assistant for three years, working with the defensive line and linebackers.

A native of Bridgeville, Pa., Marquis earned his bachelor's degree in education from Kent State in 2006. He was a student member of the Kent State staff during his time as an undergraduate. He also earned a master’s degree in sport and recreation management from Kent State in 2010.
