New to the staff in 1996 was Chris Woods who handled the linebackers in the Tigers' 4-3 alignment. In addition, he will be the new defensive coordinator in 1997. Woods brings a winning background with him to Wittenberg, having coached the last three seasons at Plymouth State College in New Hampshire. There he helped coach the Panthers to a 25-6 record, two straight conference titles and two consecutive NCAA Division III playoff bids. At Plymouth he was interim head coach in the winter and spring of 1996 and had been named defensive coordinator before he accepted the Wittenberg position.
