Tigers Suffer First Loss In Non-Conference Battle Against Alma

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger football team suffered their first loss of the season, 48-28, falling to the Alma College Scots.

The Tigers fell behind early in the first half, as the Scots took a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. Troy Teepe would find the back of the endzone for the first Wittenberg score of the afternoon, cutting the Alma advantage down, 17-7. The Tiger scoring drive went 87-yards in 10 plays, capping off with Max Milton finding Teepe on the eight-yard score.

The Wittenberg offense would find its groove in the second half, putting up one score in the third and two scores in the fourth quarter. Milik Bowe put up the first score of the second half for the Tiger offense, reeling in a 21-yard pitch-and-catch from Milton to complete the 67-yard Wittenberg scoring drive.

Teepe cut into the Alma advantage on the Tigers first possession of the fourth quarter, making it a 41-21 game. Teepe tallied his third touchdown reception of the season with a nine-yard catch, capping off an 83-yard scoring drive.

Bowe posted the final Wittenberg touchdown of the afternoon, hauling in a five-yard pass from Milton.

Milton completed 25 of 37 passes for 238 yards. On the ground, Bryce Anderson and Garrett Gross headed up the Tiger rushing attack. Anderson finished with 93 yards on 20 total carries. Gross added 41-yards on eight total carries.
