Takes Take Care Of Gators From The Road

Meadville, PA – The Wittenberg Tiger football team hit the road for an NCAC showdown with the Allegheny College Gators. The Tigers posted 26 unanswered points on their way to the 29-19 victory, racking up 412 total yards of offense. Sophomore quarterback Collin Brown completed 13 of 29 passes for 222 yards with one touchdown. The Tigers came up with five takeaways on the day, including three interceptions and two forced fumbles. Leading the takeaway team for Wittenberg was senior Jordan Burkey tallying an interception and forced fumble for the Red and White. Anthony Pedro recorded his first interception in a Tiger uniform, with Michael Fiessinger coming up with his second pick of the Tiger season. Connor Walls got into the Allegheny backfield as the Tigers tallied for sacks on the day, adding the second forced fumble on the afternoon.

Wittenberg got their scoring going, putting up 10 points to close out the first half. The Tigers kept the momentum going coming out of the break, putting up 16 unanswered points in the third quarter. Jake Saus added to his touchdown total, getting the scoring started for the Tigers, coming up on the receiving end of the 41-yard touchdown from Brown. After a Brandon Goodwin 28-yard field goal gave the Tigers the 10-7 lead midway through the second quarter and holding on heading into the half. Bryce Anderson completed the quick three-play drive with the six-yard scoring run, pushing the Tiger lead out to 17-7. Goodwin once again pushed another successful kick through the uprights, converting from 25-yards out, as the Tiger offense drove 60-yards eating up over eight-minutes of clock through the third quarter.

Wittenberg will return to action, hitting the road for the second consecutive week traveling to Wabash on Saturday, Nov. 6 for a 1:00 PM kick-off with the Little Giants.
