Tigers Catch Road Victory

Gambier, OH- The Tigers made their way out to Kenyon for their last road game of the 2019-20 regular season and returned home with a 43-27 win over the Lords. Wittenberg racked up 296 yards with an average 4.9 yards per play. Bobby Froehlich completed 10 of 15 attempted passes on the night, throwing for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Key Players

On the offensive side Jaheem Washington led the Tigers in rushing with 74 yards against the Lords while Troy Clay rushed for 62 yards and tallied two touchdowns. Nick Bowmen was in the zone and went 4/4 on the night in extra points for the Tigers.

Tiger defense held Kenyon to 241 yards with Johnathan Seay leading Wittenberg on the defensive end totaling 11 tackles, 7 of which were solo.

Game Breakdown

Froehlich wasted no time getting things started for the Tigers finding the back of the end zone himself with 12:04 left in the first quarter. The kick from Christian Seger gave Wittenberg an early 7-0 lead over Kenyon. Minutes later Clay would run it in to bring the Tigers up 13-0. Froehlich wasn't done for the night and continued the scoring streak for Wittenberg leading 20-0.

Jordan Burkey stole momentum from the Lords in the fourth quarter with an interception and 13 yard gain to end the game with Wittenberg leading 43-27.

Up Next: The Tigers will return home on Saturday, November 16th to celebrate this year's senior class. Wittenberg will kick off against Ohio Wesleyan at 1 PM.
