Four Selected To Play In OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl

Springfield, Ohio — Four former Wittenberg University football standouts have been selected to compete for the South team in the third annual OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Quarterback Ben Zoeller, class of 2012 from Louisville, Ky., linebacker Zach Hurtt, class of 2012 from Fort Thomas, Ky., and wide receivers Josh McKee, class of 2012 from New Carlisle, Ohio, and Michael Cooper, class of 2012 from Springfield, Ohio, were all invited to play in the game after stellar collegiate careers in the Red & White. Wittenberg won back-to-back North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championships and posted undefeated regular seasons in 2009 and 2010, and the 2012 Senior Class posted a tremendous four-year record of 36-8.

The OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl features two 45-man rosters comprised of student-athletes from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, and NAIA football programs throughout the state. The event, organized by Columbus-based GameDay Management, Inc., also includes an awards banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North. At the inaugural banquet in 2010, defensive end Eddie Vallery, class of 2011, was named Division III Defensive Player of the Year and Tiger Head Coach Joe Fincham garnered Division III Coach of the Year honors.

The next day, linebacker Kyle Lohrman, class of 2010, won South Team Defensive MVP honors for his performance in a 7-0 loss to the North team. He finished with eight tackles, including one for a loss, a pass broken up and an interception. He was joined on the South Team that day by quarterback Aaron Huffman, wide receiver Patrick Williams and cornerback Brandyn Brown, all class of 2010.

Vallery earned South Team Defensive MVP in 2011 after he made eight tackles and a whopping three sacks in a 19-16 loss to the North Team. He was joined in the game by linebacker Brad McKinley, cornerback Keenan Freeman and wide receiver Anthony Kralich, all class of 2011.
