Wittenberg Football Standouts Selected To Play In First-Ever OhioCollegeFootball.com Senior Bowl

Springfield, Ohio — Less than two months after playing key roles in the Wittenberg University football team's return to national prominence during a storybook 2009 season, four senior members of the squad have been selected to play one more collegiate game.

Quarterback Aaron Huffman, class of 2010 from Newark, Ohio, linebacker Kyle Lohrman, class of 2010 from Loveland, Ohio, cornerback Brandyn Brown, class of 2010 from Louisville, Ky., and wide receiver Patrick Williams, class of 2010 from Plainfield, Ind., will compete for the South team in the first-ever OhioCollegeFootball.com Bowl at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Upper Arlington High School's Marv Moorehead Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

The OhioCollegeFootball.com Bowl features two 45-man rosters comprised of student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II and II and NAIA football programs throughout the state. The event, organized by Columbus-based GameDay Management, Inc., will include a pre-game concert by 2009 American Idol contestant Brent Keith. Tickets will go on sale the day of the game at a cost of $10 for adults and $5 for students.

Huffman, Brown and Williams were all four-year starters for the Tigers, while Lohrman was a three-year starter and the team's leading tackler in 2008. Huffman broke more than a dozen school passing records despite missing eight games in 2008 due to injury, while Williams is the school record-holder for career pass receptions. Brown ranks among the best punt returners in school history. All four players earned at least two All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) designations during their collegiate careers.

Individual accomplishments aside, the seniors' greatest collective achievement was leading the Tigers to the 18th undefeated regular season in school history in 2009. Wittenberg finished the season with a school record-tying 12 wins against just one loss, which came in the NCAA Division III Tournament quarterfinals at eventual national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater.
