Wittenberg Dominates North Coast Athletic Conference Football Squad

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio--North Coast Athletic Conference champion Wittenberg University dominated the All-NCAC team as selected by the league¹s coaches with seven first team selections and six second team picks.

Heading the list as repeat selections are junior tailback Casey Donaldson (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern), the NCAC Offensive Player of the Year in 1998 and sophomore middle linebacker Dustin Goldsbury (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Ready), the 1998 Newcomer of the Year.

Other first teamers for the Tigers are senior tight end T. J. Weibel (Westmont, Ill./Dorman), junior quarterback Anthony Crane(Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis), junior offensive lineman Mark Sunderman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Roger Bacon), sophomore receiver Michael Aljancic (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) and sophomore defensive lineman Juan Howard (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster).

Wittenberg players voted to the second team were junior receiver Labon Storts (Columbus, Ohio/Westland), junior placekicker Ryan Walker (Newark, Ohio/Newark), junior punter Matt Gallatin (Johnson City, Tenn./Science Hill), sophomore offensive lineman Matt Leisure(Canton, Ohio/McKinley), sophomore Mike Houck (Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain) and freshman Elio Harmon (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge).

Wittenberg won its second consecutive NCAC title and advanced to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the eighth time in school history.
