SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg senior Austin Luther (Hughesville, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 4-10.

This marks Luther's third career NCAC Pitcher of the Week accolade, joining the two he earned as a sophomore in 2022 when he was named to the All-NCAC First Team and D3baseball.com All-Region 7 Third Team.

The latest recognition comes after he earned the win on the mound in Wittenberg's 6-1 victory at Asbury in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader. He allowed one unearned run on one hit and two walks while tallying five strikeouts over seven innings.

Luther has a 1.93 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 18.2 innings over three starts this season.

In his career, he is 11-4 with 120 strikeouts and a 3.10 ERA in 30 appearances, including 19 starts. He is five wins and 31 strikeouts shy of breaking into Wittenberg's all-time top 10 in those categories, and his career ERA ranks fourth all-time.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday at 12 p.m. for a doubleheader against Muskingum in their 2024 home opener.
