Tigers Drop NCAC Series At No. 13 Denison

Granville, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Baseball team dropped their first pair of North Coast Athletic Conference games over the weekend, falling to No. 13 Denison University. The Tigers dropped game one of the series, 9-2, before falling 16-6  in seven innings in the second game. Wittenberg collected 20 hits throughout the series, with eight coming in the opener and 12 more to close out the series.

Ian Ash gashed the Denison defense going 5 for 8 from the plate, with a pair of hits in the opener. Ash added a 3 for 4 effort in the second game of the series, including a double and an RBI.

Ben Seibert added three hits in the series opener against the Big Red, scoring one of Wittenberg's runs to start the day.

Nick Cunningham would take the ball to start game one, putting in 7.1 innings of work. Cunningham waved three with seven hits allowed. Wittenberg would run through a stable of arms in the second game, surrendering 13 hits. Michael Osmond would get the start in the second game , fanning six Big Red hitters.
