Tigers Stumble In Series Opener At Emory

Emory, GA – The Wittenberg Tiger baseball team fell to the Eagles from Emory University, 17-2. The Tigers collected four hits on the day, with the Eagles posting 15.

After the Eagles were the first to strike, putting up two runs in the bottom of the second. Wittenberg responded with a two-run fourth inning, evening the game back at 2-2. Dylan Jackson drove in the first Wittenberg run with a sacrifice fly to right. Michael Bronowski plated the second Tiger run of the inning, flying out to left to score Chase Whisner.

Austin Luther took the mound to start the series against the Eagles. Luther put in 4.1 innings of work, allowing four hits with four strikeouts. Connor Goss closed out the game, making his first mound appearance for the Tigers, allowing two hits and fanning three.
