Baseball Drops Two Road Games At Baldwin Wallace

Berea, Ohio – The Wittenberg University baseball team took on the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets in a two-game series on Saturday, dropping the first game 9-1 before falling in the second game 10-3. The Tiger's collected ten hits over two games in their first series back from North Carolina. Baldwin Wallace jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, posting three runs. The Yellow Jackets added four more in the third and an additional run in the fourth. Wittenberg would get their first run across in the sixth inning after Ryan Probst singled to left field to start things off. After a Jack Siefert walk and Patrick Kenny reached on the throwing error, Probst made his way across for the first Wittenberg run.

The Wittenberg offense got out to a slow start in game two, posting their three runs in the final inning of action. Tim Bates got the offense going in the top of the ninth with a single before Chase Carpenter could come in for a walk. Andrew Hammond knocked in the first Tiger run with a single, scoring Bates and advancing Chase Carpenter to third. Ryan Probst reached on the fielding error, pushing Hammond and Carpenter across for the final Wittenberg runs.

Tanner Griggs was given his first collegiate loss, going two-plus with five hits allowed, striking out four and one walk. Jack Bayhurst came in for four and a third, facing 19 Baldwin Wallace hitters with three hits allowed and one strikeout. Tanner Boros closed out the first game, facing three hitters striking out one. Jace Barga took the hill in game two, going five and a third with 27 batters faced allowing six hits and striking out seven. Parker Tietz faced six striking out one with one hit allowed. Andrew Juelg and Aaron Fasano each made appearances on the hill for the Tigers.
