Wittenberg Comes Up Short Against Albion, 5-3

AUBURNDALE, Florida—Wittenberg baseball fell 5-3 to Albion Friday morning, as the Tigers spring break trip rolled on. The Tigers had their chances throughout the game, but could not get the timely hit they needed in the loss. The Tigers had strong performances on the mound from seniors Frank Sullivan (Milford, Ohio/Milford) and Jordan Hitt (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) as well as freshman Jayce Barga (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles). The loss moves the Tigers to 2-4 on the season as the Tigers Florida trip concludes Saturday.

 

GAME NOTES

  • Wittenberg left eight baserunners on in the game, while striking out seven times and only walking three.
  • Marshall Eippert (Milford, Ohio/Moeller) and Josh Kaplan (Northbrook, Illinois/Glenbrook North) each recorded two hits apiece in the loss, while also adding a combined two RBI's.
  • Hitt locked down the middle part of the game for the Tigers, as the senior came in out of the pen and threw four innings of shutout baseball.
