Springfield, Ohio — Wittenberg University Baseball Head Coach Jay Lewis has announced that seven student-athletes will join the Tiger program in August 2014.

The new recruits join a team that finished 11-29 overall and 4-15 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) a year ago. The Tigers finished 10th in the league’s 2014 regular season standings.

Wittenberg is expected to return 20 letterwinners to the roster in 2015. The Tigers are scheduled to open the 2015 campaign with their annual Spring Break trip to Florida in March.

The new recruits are:

  • Tanner Combs (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe)
  • Corbin Dennis (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington)
  • Rob Jaydos (DesPlaines, Ill./St. Vaitor)
  • Erik Olsen (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy)
  • Kal Patterson (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake)
  • Paul Stanley (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe)
  • Zach Wolfe (Williamsport, Ohio/Westfall)

“I am looking forward to welcoming this outstanding group of young men to the Wittenberg University community,” Lewis said. “I look forward to working with them to succeed both academically and athletically.”
