SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Wittenberg Tigers dropped both ends of a twice-postponed doubleheader against DePauw by scores of 5-2 and 3-2 in 10 innings.

The wins gave DePauw a four-game sweep of Wittenberg, combining the games played on March 29 with the games on April 15. The losses dropped the Tigers to 5-16 overall and 2-10 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division, while DePauw improved to 11-15 overall and 8-4 in the league.

In the first game, Wittenberg got solid pitching from freshman Kal Patterson (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake), who started and allowed four earned runs on eight hits and two walks, sophomore Trent Champlin (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and sophomore Cal Slusarz (Chesterland, Ohio/West Geauga). However, the Tiger offense was limited to six hits and two fifth-inning runs on a groundout by sophomore Dalton Boucher (Granville, Ohio/Granville) and an RBI single by freshman Timmy Bates (Westerville, Ohio/South).

Senior Zac Wilson (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) collected two hits and reached base three times in the game, and he scored one time.

Game 2 was a pitcher's duel, as each team managed just two runs in the first nine innings. DePauw pushed across what turned out to be the game-winner in the top of the 10th frame.

Senior Stu Haley (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) started and allowed just one run on one hit and four walks. He gave way to junior Luke Black (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham), who went three innings and just allowed one earned run, and junior Jordan Hitt (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern), who gave up an unearned run in the 10th on two hits to take the loss.

Boucher, junior Corey Farnbauch (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) and freshman Eli Goolsby-Broschart (Indianapolis, Ind./Scecina Memorial) each collected two hits for the Tigers, with Farnbauch and junior Will Cousins (Medfield, Mass./Medfield) driving in Wittenberg's runs.
