CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Wittenberg Tigers rounded out an Easter weekend four-game series hosted by North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) West Division rival Wabash with a doubleheader split.

The Tigers are now 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the NCAC West. Wabash, which won three of the four games in the series, is now 10-13 overall and 3-5 in the division.

Wabash got the best of things in the opener as the Little Giants limited Wittenberg to just five hits in the seven-inning contest. Wabash scored one run in the second and then tacked on three in the fourth and three in the sixth against Tiger starter, junior Jordan Hitt (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern). Hitt allowed seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits in 5.1 innings.

Sophomore Cal Slusarz (Chesterland, Ohio/West Geauga), senior Aaron Patrick (Eldorado, Ohio/Tri-County North) and freshman Eli Goolsby-Broschart (Indianapolis, Ind./Scecina Memorial) drove in runs for the Tigers.

The Tigers bounced back in Game 2 as junior Luke Black (St. Paris, Ohio/Graham) and sophomore Jon Ellerbrock (Tipp City, Ohio/Bethel) combined to throw nine innings of 10-hit baseball. Black went the first five innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk, and Ellerbrock tossed four innings in relief, allowing two earned runs.

The offensive was sparked by two RBIs apiece from senior Zac Wilson (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton), freshman Erik Olson (Chicago, Ill./Loyola Academy) and junior Will Cousins (Medfield, Mass./Medfield). Goolsby-Broschart scored three times, and he was one of four players to collect two hits in the game - the others being Wilson, Slusarz and freshman Timmy Bates (Westerville, Ohio/South).
