Tigers Fall To Albion In Spring Break Finale

LAKELAND, Fla. – Albion ended Wittenberg's spring break festivities in Florida with an 8-2 defeat, pushing the Tigers to a 3-4 overall record.

Wittenberg put together seven hits against Albion's six, led by the 2-for-4 outings of senior Zac Wilson (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) and freshman Timmy Bates (Westerville, Ohio/South). Bates posted an RBI single in the Tigers' two-run eighth.

The other RBI in the eighth was provided by freshman Rob Jaydos (Des Plains, Ill./Saint Viator), who doubled to score a run. He finished 1-for-2, a figure matched by junior Corey Farnbauch (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) after both entered the game in the seventh.

Sophomore Jon Ellerbrock (Tipp City, Ohio/Bethel) surrendered the pitching decision despite five strikeouts and just three hits scoring four runs, two earned, over four innings. He was relieved by Junior Jordan Hitt (South Charleston, Ohio/Southeastern) who posted almost exactly the same numbers over three innings, allowing three hits, four runs, two earned, on five strikeouts.

Freshman Jonathon Forster (Royal Oak, Mich./Brother Rice) shut things down over the last two innings, allowing no hits and no walks with one strikeout.
