Q & A with Dr. Gary-3/24/16

Q: What is your favorite class experience/ professor experience at Wittenberg? 

A: One of my favorite classes at Wittenberg was Literature and Madness with Dr. Davis.  Being a biology major I have had little experiences in Hollenbeck, let alone the English department.  But taking a break from the sciences and being able to read inspiring literature about important topics like mental health with a class of amazing students was something I will never forget.

Q: What is your most memorable sports moment at Witt?

A: My most memorable sports memories have taken place on our spring break trips to Florida. Spending time away from the stresses of school in the sun, playing the sport I love with the teammates I love even more are by far the best memories I’ve made at Witt.

Q: Why do you enjoy being a Wittenberg Tiger?

A: The sense of community here at Witt is unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of.  Not only is Wittenberg a family but there is pride in our school that is unyielding. 

Q: To you, what does it mean to Tiger Up?

A: Giving everything you’ve got—for your team, your coaches, your peers, your professors and your community.

Q: What is the most valuable thing you have learned through your sport that is applicable to life?

A: Teamwork and leadership—these traits are directly applicable to many real life situations that I will experience throughout my life.  With my team and my school, these skills I’ve learned will aid me in my future endeavors.

Q: What do you see yourself doing after Witt?

A: Pursuing my education in Public Health I hope to make a difference in the lives of others, and no matter where I end up—having the light given to me at Witt, I will pass it on to others.

Q: How did you get involved in your sport? (When did you get involved in your sport? Why did you get involved in your sport?)

A: I started playing softball when I was 5 and never looked back.  At the time it was a fun way to stay active as a little girl, growing up I continued to develop the passion of the game and it brought me here to Witt.  Softball has taught me many lessons that have shaped me as a person.
