Q & A with Dr. Gary, featuring Sam Geise, Men's Golf

Q & A with Dr. Gary- 11/25/15

Sam Geise ’16, Golf, Business Major

Q: What is your favorite class experience /professor experience at Wittenberg?

A: It’s tough to put my finger on one single class here at Wittenberg. If I had to choose, my favorite class experience so far at Witt has been the Senior Business capstone with Dr. Pierce. Incorporating all that we’ve learned in the foundation business classes into one class was very interesting and rewarding.

Q: What is your most memorable sports moment at Witt?

A: Among all of the wonderful successes our golf team has had, my most memorable was this past season’s National Championship. Competing at the National level and coming in 3rd was fantastic. And the place we came in only felt better because I got to do it with some of my very best friends.

Q: Why you enjoy being a Wittenberg Tiger?

A: I enjoy being a Wittenberg Tiger because our close-knit family of sports and academics makes wearing the flying “W” feel that much better; there is so much support across all sports and I think that’s unique to our school.

Q: What is your favorite place on campus? (To hangout, socialize, etc.)

A: My favorite place to hang out on campus is in the HPER either in the trainer’s room or in our golf rooms.

Q: What is the most valuable thing you have learned through your sport that is applicable to life?

A: In my sport, it’s important to focus on the minor details in order to be successful on a major scale. So, I would definitely have to say that is something I focus on each and every day in life in general.

Q: What do you see yourself doing after Witt?

A: After Witt, I have aspirations of becoming a professional golfer and giving that avenue my best effort for as long as I can. Then, if golf does not pan out, I plan to work in business/sales/marketing and enjoy corporate America and all the opportunities along the way.
