Q & A with Dr. Gary, Featuring Justin Fisher, Men's Track and Field

Justin Fisher ’16, Track & Field, Sport Management& Business Marketing Major

Q: What is your most memorable sports moment at Witt?

A: My most memorable sports moment at Wittenberg was going to the Division III Outdoor Nationals my junior year. It was a great experience to see the best athletes in each event compete.

Q: Why do you enjoy being a Wittenberg Tiger?

A: I enjoy being a Wittenberg Tiger because the atmosphere here is amazing. Students and athletes in all different sports, events, clubs, and organizations here at Wittenberg support a multitude of different sports. Professors and other coaches here at Wittenberg are also very supportive in and out of the classroom.

Q: To you, what does it mean to Tiger Up?

A: To me to Tiger Up means to put in hard work when others aren’t, to do the little things that make you better but are so easy to just skip, to support every student-athlete in their academics and athletics, and to let all the hard work shine when the time is right and to rise to the occasion when your fellow tiger teammates need your help. That’s what it means to Tiger Up.

Q: What is your favorite place on campus (to hangout, socialize, etc.)?

A: My favorite place on campus to hangout is the CDR. Whether is lunches with friends or team dinners after practice, something fun is always happening and it’s always good bonding time with fellow tigers.

Q: What is the most valuable thing you have learned through your sport that is applicable to life?

A: The most valuable thing that I have learned from the sport of Track and Field is that it is relatable to job situations. Working with coworkers is very important but at the end of the day you have to do your part individually so that the whole team/company can succeed.

Q: What do you see yourself doing after Witt?

A: After Wittenberg I hope to start a career related to my Sports Management major. Coaching the sport of Track and Field may also be an option.

Q: After your time at Wittenberg, how will you pass the light on to others?

A: After I leave Wittenberg I plan to pass light on to others with the knowledge that I have learned during my time here. Helping others to succeed in any way that I am capable.
