Follow The Progress Of Turf Installation At Edwards-Maurer Field

The synthetic turf at Edwards-Maurer Field is being replaced. The project started on Monday, May 4, and it will be completed in approximately one month's time.

A webcam has been installed in the press box atop the stands on the west side of the stadium, and it will stream images of the work being done 24 hours per day, seven days per week, until the project is completed.

NOTE: The webcam is best viewed in the Firefox browser. For visitors using Internet Explorer, click here to view a still image. To view progress, visitors will need to refresh the page regularly.

Edwards-Maurer Field serves as the home playing and practice surface for Wittenberg's football, field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse teams, in addition to practice and playing opportunities for intramurals and club sports at the university. In addition, Edwards-Maurer Fied is frequently the site of community events, campus activities, and youth sporting events and camps.

The site has served as a centerpiece for outdoor athletics activity at Wittenberg since the 1920s. In 1992, artificial turf was installed as part of the Bill Edwards Drive project, and the field was re-named in honor of legendary coaches, professors and administrators Bill Edwards and Dave Maurer. The original artificial surface was replaced in 2005.
