Molly Hopkins joined the Wittenberg Sports Medicine staff in 2012 as an athletic trainer covering women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s volleyball, men’s lacrosse, and mens and womens golf, bringing with her numerous qualifications and ample expertise.

At Wittenberg, Hopkins has been an adjunct faculty member since 2015 teaching applied anatomy in the exercise science department. In the fall of 2020, was able to write and secure an articulation agreement with Ohio University for the pre athletic training track. Allowing Wittenberg students interested in the field of athletic training the opportunity to complete their Master’s of Science Degree in Athletic Training at Ohio University.

After graduating from Urbana University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and Sports Science, Hopkins completed her Master’s of Science Degree in Education, specializing in corporate and community education at Elmira College in New York.

While a student at Urbana, Hopkins underwent an orthopedic surgery rotation at the Springfield Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute in Springfield, Ohio. Also, she served an internship in cardiothoracic medicine at Springfield Regional Medical Center.

While at Elmira College, Hopkins worked as an assistant athletic trainer working with men’s soccer, women’s basketball, women’s lacrosse and men’s and women’s ice hockey programs.

After graduating from Elmira College in 2011, Hopkins went on to secure a position at The Ohio State University as a resident athletic trainer working with the men’s gymnastics program.

Hopkins is certified by The Board of Certification in Athletic Training and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. She is a state licensed athletic trainer by Ohio Athletic Trainers Board. Additional certifications are Graston (ISTM) M-1 and M-2 certified and IMPACT trained athletic trainer.
