Wittenberg senior Sam Geise (Springboro, OH/Springboro) leads in the individual standings after event one of the 2016 NCAC Golf Championship series after carding a two-day total of 144 (72-69) last weekend on the par-72, 6,971-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Jane Hopkinson-Wood

NCAC — Women's Golf (April 25, 2016)

Wittenberg sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, PA/The Hill School) currently holds a one-stroke lead in the individual standings after event one of the 2016 NCAC Golf Championship Series with a 36-hole score of 150 (77-73) last weekend at the par-72, 5,806-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Chelsea Zang

NCAC — Softball (April 19, 2016)

Wittenberg sophomore Chelsea Zang appeared in four games last week, starting three and posted a perfect 3-0 record in the circle for the Tigers. In 19.2 innings of work, Zang struck out 10 batters, allowed just two earned runs and scattered 12 hits throughout the week.

NCAC — Men's Golf (April 19, 2016)

Wittenberg freshman Isaac Hartley closed out the regular season portion of his rookie campaign by posting a pair of top-10 individual finishes last week. He finished in a tie for seventh at the Emory Invitational at Smoke Rise C.C. in Stone Mountain, Ga., last Monday (4/11) with a 36-hole score of 144 (71-73), before finishing in a tie for second at Wittenberg’s Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational over the weekend with a four-under par 140 (70-70). The Tigers also collected the team title at the Rosencrans-Maurer Invitational with a school-record score of 565 (282-283) in a 36-hole event.

Brea Medlock

NCAC — Women's Track & Field (April 19, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Brea Medlock broke the school record in the 400-meter dash (56.21), and also was a part of the All-Ohio meet record in the 4x400-meter relay team (3:56.34).

NCAC — Women's Golf (April 11, 2016)

Wittenberg sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, PA/The Hill School) led the Tigers to a third-place finish last week at the NCAA Division III Championships Preview, played at the par-72, 5,871 yard Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. Hopkinson- Wood finished third overall in the individual standings at the high profile event with a 36-hole score of 153 (75-78). The Tigers checked in at third in the team standings with 641 strokes, behind only Texas-Tyler (616) and NYU (639).

Colin Laszlo

NCAC — Men's Golf (March 29, 2016)

Wittenberg freshman Colin Laszlo logged a top-five individual finish at the Butler Spring Invitational last week at the par-72, 6,775-yard Hulman Links G.C. in Avon, Indiana. Laszlo opened the tournament with a 77 and elevated into the top-five after round two with a 75 to finish the two-day event with 152 strokes. The Tigers finished third in the team standings behind IUPUI (611) and Robert Morris (617) with a 36-hole score of 619 (308-311).

Becca Joseph

NCAC — Women's Lacrosse (March 29, 2016)

Wittenberg junior attacker Becca Joseph led the Tigers to a pair of victories last week, defeating Urbana and NCAC foe Kenyon. Joseph finished the week with eight goals and four assists for 12 total points including a five goal, two assist effort in the win over Kenyon.

Andrew Fuss

NCAC — Men's Lacrosse (March 29, 2016)

Wittenberg senior attacker Andrew Fuss helped the Tigers earn a pair of victories last week to improve to 6-2 on the season. Fuss scored two goals, recorded six assists and collected five ground balls in the 18-6 win over Adrian and then followed with a three goal, four assists and three ground balls in the 12-8 road win against Oberlin. For the week, Fuss led Wittenberg with five goals and 10 assists for 15 total points.

Loren Combs

Loren Combs

NCAC — Softball (March 29, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Loren Combs continued her solid play early this season, helping the Tigers to a 4-2 record last week including three multi-hit games. For the week, Combs posted a .450 batting average by going 9-for-20 with five runs, three RBI and was a perfect 5-for-5 stealing bases.

Laike Wallace

NCAC — Men's Outdoor Track and Field (March 29, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace finished first in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Tigers to a fourth-place finish at the Cedarville Yellow Jackets Open, breaking the tape in 54.61. Wallace also earned second place honors in the 110 meter-hurdles at 15.38 seconds.

NCAC — Men's Outdoor Track and Field (March 22, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Justin Fisher placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.84m at the Emory Invitational. The mark is currently tops in the nation among Div. III athletes.

Becah Delp

NCAC — Women's Outdoor Track and Field (March 22, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Becah Delp led the Tigers with a seventh-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters at the Emory Invitational. Additionally, Delp placed 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.24 meters that broke the school record and ranks fourth nationally.

NCAC — Men's Outdoor Track and Field (March 22, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace finished second in the 400-meter hurdles to lead the Tigers to a 15th-place finish at the Emory Invitational. Wallace broke the tape in 53.38 which is good enough for the best Div. III time currently in the country.

Chelsea Zang

NCAC — Softball (March 15, 2016)

Wittenberg sophomore Chelsea Zang was nothing short of dominant in her five pitching appearances during the week, winning all five starts while compiling a 1.20 ERA. In 35 total innings, Zang allowed just six earned runs while holding opponents to a .212 batting average and struck out 20. In all five appearances, Zang pitched complete games including two shutouts.

NCAC — Men's Golf (March 15, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Sam Geise posted a top-five individual performance at the TaylorMade-Adidas Intercollegiate to lead the Tigers to a second-place finish overall against some of the nation’s top teams in Division III. Geise finished alone in fourth in the individual standings after carding a 54-hole score of 222 (76-73-73) on the par-72, 6,789-yard Cotton Dike Course in Dataw Island, South Carolina. The Tigers finished second behind Guilford in the team standings with a two-day total of 892 (293-293-306).

Macy Hubbard

NCAC — Women's Golf (March 15, 2016)

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard led the Tigers to their sixth team title of the 2015-16 season after earning medalist honors with an even-par 144 (73-71) last week at the TaylorMade-Adidas Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 5,900-yard Morgan River Course in Dataw Island, South Carolina. Tigers won the eight-team event with a two-day total of 627 (317-310). It marked the third time this season that Hubbard has collected medalist honors after tying for the spot in the fall at both the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic and the Pat Clouse Invitational.

Brea Medlock

NCAC — Women's Indoor Track and Field (Feb. 8, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Brea Medlock earned second-place in the 60-meter dash (7.96) to held lead the Tigers to a 10th-place finish at the Joe Banks Invite at Ohio Northern. Medlock also ran a leg on the winning 4x200 relay team (1:46.97).

NCAC — Men's Indoor Track and Field (Jan. 18, 2016)

Wittenberg senior Laike Wallace led the Tigers to a fifth-place finish at the Otterbein Invite to open up the 2016 portion of the season. Wallace finished second in the 500-meter dash (1:07.83) and third in the 60-meter hurdles (8.63).

NCAC — Men's Golf (Oct. 27, 2015)

Wittenberg junior Garrett Brickley led all NCAC golfers last week at The O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in North Carolina by finishing second overall with a two-day score of 149 (75-74) on the par-71, 6,819-yard Sedgefield Dye Course. It marked Brickley’s best collegiate finish and helped the Tigers to finish second out of 18 teams with 612 strokes (307-305).

NCAC — Field Hockey (Nov. 2, 2015)

Wittenberg sophomore forward Audrey Coler was key in a pair of NCAC victories for the Tigers last week as they clinched their second-straight and 12th overall appearance in the NCAC Tournament. Tied in the standings going into the game against Ohio Wesleyan, Coler registered two goals including the opening mark to lead the Tigers to a 4-1 victory. Then in the regular season finale, Coler scored her third goal of the week in a win against Earlham to claim the final spot in the tournament.

NCAC — Women's Soccer (Nov. 2, 2015)

Wittenberg junior defender Michelle Brunswick scored a goal in each of the Tigers’ wins last week as they clinched their fourth-straight and 15th overall appearance in the NCAC Tournament. Brunswick opened the scoring in the 2-1 win over Denison on Wednesday and added an insurance goal in the shutout victory against Wooster. On the week, Brunswick registered two goals for four total points to lead the Tigers.

NCAC — Football (Oct. 27, 2015)

Wittenberg senior wide receiver Corey Stump had a record-setting day in the Tigers’ 27-10 victory over Hiram on Saturday. After tying the school record with 14 catches in a 42-21 win over Ohio Wesleyan on September 19th, Stump raced past the mark on Saturday with 16 catches for 197 yards and two second quarter TD receptions of 17- and 21-yards. The 16 catches was also just one shy of the NCAC record set by Felix Brooks-Church of Oberlin in 1996 and matched by Kenyon’s Andy Pillay in 2001.

NCAC — Women's Volleyball (Oct. 20, 2015)

Wittenberg senior right-side hitter Kara Seidenstricker was named to the all-tournament team last weekend at Calvin’s Midwest Invitational after leading the Tigers to a pair of Top-25 wins over No. 11 Carthage, 3-1, and No. 16 Elmhurst, 3-1. In 12 total sets on the week, Seidenstricker accumulated 35 kills, a .284 hitting percentage, 48 digs and 11 total blocks (2 solo, 9 asst.). She posted double-double efforts in the two wins, with 18 kills and 15 digs against Carthage and 12 kills and 17 digs against Elmhurst.

NCAC — Women's Golf (Oct. 13, 2015)

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard earned NCAC Golfer of the Week honors for the second time this season after earning medalist honors at an event for the second time this season last weekend at the Pat Clouse Invitational with a two-day score of 147 (70-77) at the par-72, 5,809-yard Springfield Country Club in Ohio. Hubbard’s 2-under par 70 on Saturday was her first-ever sub-par round and just the second such 18-hole score in Wittenberg program history.

NCAC — Men's Golf (Oct. 6, 2015)

Wittenberg junior Mark David Wright fired a six-under par 210 (69-72-69) to finish third out of 60 golfers at the highly competitive Gordin Classic, played last week at the par-72, 7,010-yard Columbus Country Club in Ohio. The event featured 10 teams currently ranked in the top-25 in the most recent GCAA Bushnell Golfweek Div. III Coaches’ Poll, including Wittenberg which ranked third in the most recent poll. As a team, the Tigers finished third overall with 863 strokes (289-287-287), behind only ninth-ranked Berry (854) and top-ranked Methodist (862).

Dustin Holmes

NCAC — Football (Oct. 6, 2015)

Wittenberg junior linebacker Dustin Holmes made a career-high 16 tackles (4 solo, 12 asst.) in the 24-0 Homecoming win over Wooster. He also racked up 1.5 tackles-for-loss, which included a half a sack, to go along with one pass breakup and an interception that led to the Tigers’ final score in the fourth quarter.

NCAC — Women's Golf (Oct. 6, 2015)

Wittenberg senior Maggie Smith became the third different Tiger to earn medalist honors in an event this season after topping the 58-golfer field last weekend at Wooster’s Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,802-yard Wooster Country Club. She carded matching rounds of 77 to finish with a 154, which was four strokes better than junior teammate Macy Hubbard (Mason, OH/Mason).

NCAC — Men's Cross Country (Sept. 28, 2015)

Wittenberg junior Jon Osman was the top NCAC finisher on Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Pre-Regional Invitational. He finished fourth overall with a personal-best 8K time of 26:54. As a team, the Tigers finished sixth of eight teams entered in the competition, which took place on Rose-Hulman's LaVern Gibson Championship Course, the site of the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships in November 2015.

NCAC — Women's Golf (Sept. 22, 2015)

Wittenberg junior Macy Hubbard earned a pair of top-5 finishes last week to earn the NCAC Women’s Golfer of the Week award for the first time in her career. Hubbard opened the week by firing a 149 (73-76) to finish in fourth at The O’Brien National Invitational, played at the par-72, 5,806-yard Knollwood Country Club. She then picked up the third medalist honor of her career later in the week by carding a 150 (76-74) at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic, played at the par-72, 5,900-yard Deer Creek Golf Club. The Tigers also earned the team title in both events, setting a pair of school records at the O’Brien National Invitational for low 18-hole round score (292) and low 36-hole round score (591).

NCAC — Football (Sept. 22, 2015)

Wittenberg senior wide receiver Corey Stump had a career day in the Tigers’ 42-21 home victory over Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday. He tied the school record for receptions in a game with 14 and finished second on the all-time single game list in both receiving yards (234) and touchdowns (4). His 84-yard scoring strike from senior quarterback Zack Jenkins was also the longest reception of his career.

Wittenberg sophomore Jane Hopkinson-Wood (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School) led all NCAC finishers at the Denison Lynn Schweizer Invitational by finishing second overall in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 147 (72-75) on the Par-71, 5,798-yard course. The Tigers, which won seven total individual events in 2014-15, including their first NCAC championship, also won the team title at Denison with 619 strokes (305-314).
