Men's Golf (4/22/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Craig Osterbrock (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) who won the 2011 Bob Nye Championship Medalist Award, leads the individual standings after event one of the 2012 NCAC Championship Series with a two-day total of 144 (73-71). Tyler Yaple
Men's Golf (4/9/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Tyler Yaple (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) shot a personal-best round of 67 in the second round of the Camp LeJeune Intercollegiate Gold Championship and totaled 218 strokes to finish tied for 32nd at the highly competitive national event. The Tigers, who were the only NCAC squad to qualify for the Gold Championship, finished 13th overall with 880 strokes (293-284-303). Laura Rose
Softball (4/9/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Laura Rose (Riverside, Ohio/Stebbins) played the hero on Saturday, laying down a successful squeeze bunt to break a fifth-inning 2-2 tie and put the Tigers ahead of Allegheny in game one. The Tigers held the lead to win 3-2 and move into a tie with Allegheny for first place. With solo position of first place on the line, Rose then contributed two RBI to help Wittenberg win game two and the conference lead by a 7-2 score. Rose led the Tigers to a 4-0 week after hitting .500, including eight RBI, one double, one home run and two stolen bases. Brandon Keiser
Men's Lacrosse (4/9/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Brandon Keiser (Reistertown, Md./Park School) led the Tigers to two wins last week with a team-best five goals and one assist, including two goals in a 13-2 league victory over Oberlin on Saturday. Brandon Reaman
Baseball (4/2/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Brandon Reaman (Dayton, Ohio/Northmont) shared the team lead for hits this week with nine, batting second in the lineup in all five games and leading Wittenberg to a 4-1 week, including an important 3-1 series victory over Wabash and a 28-5 win over Wilmington where he scored five of the team's record 28 runs. Reaman scored 11 of the 12 times he reached base this week and also counted a sacrifice hit and a sacrifice fly among his stat totals. Nicole Waers
Women's Golf (4/2/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Nicole Waers (Canton, Ohio/Perry) broke the 36-hole round school record with 152 strokes to finish 10th at the Washington (MO) Spring Invite, including a 73 on day two, which was two strokes better than the previous single-round school record. The Tigers shot a program best, 36-hole round score of 622 to finish in fourth overall, including a 307 on Sunday, which set the program benchmark for 18 holes. Francine Murzynski
Women's Lacrosse (4/2/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Francine Murzynski (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) led the Tigers to their first win over league-rival Wooster, 10-8, since 2003 and only their second since 1992 with two goals and one assist. Anna Henry
Women's Outdoor Track & Field (3/26/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) led the Tigers to an eighth-place finish at the Emory Invitational after winning the 10,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 38:47.21. Victor Banjo
Men's Outdoor Track & Field (3/26/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) guided the Tigers to a ninth- place finish at the Emory Invitational after winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.88 seconds, which is currently the second-fastest time posted in Div. Leah Ann Miller
Women's Tennis (3/26/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Leah Ann Miller (Springfield, Ohio/Catholic Central) did not drop a set in singles action, winning 6-0, 6-0 in both matches at the No. 1 spot. Alex Cummins
Women's Tennis (3/12/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Alex Cummins (New Lebanon, Ohio/Dixie) led the Tigers over their spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina, with a 3-2 record at No. 1 singles and a 3-2 record in doubles action. Ian Streicker
Men's Tennis (3/12/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Ian Streicker (South Lebanon, Ohio/Loveland) went 4-1 on the week at No. 1 singles, including a close 10-7 tiebreaker victory against Duncan Miller of Methodist. Shelby Kaho
Women's Indoor Track & Field - Sprints/Hurdles (2/12/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Shelby Kaho (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union) finished second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.23) at the All-Ohio Meet to earn NCAC Athlete of the Week for the second time in her young collegiate career. Men's Indoor Track & Field - Sprints/Hurdles (2/12/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin) won the 60-meter dash (6.90) at the All-Ohio Meet with the fifth-best time recorded in Div. III this season. Clayton Black
Men's Basketball (2/5/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Clayton Black (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) led the Tigers to two wins last week to keep Wittenberg in charge of the conference race with a two-game lead over second-place Wooster heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. Black went 6-of-11 from the field and from the free-throw line in a 66-58 comeback win over Ohio Wesleyan on Wednesday, leading his team with 18 points against the Battling Bishops just days removed from scoring his 1,000th point versus DePauw. Black then turned in a 14-point, six-rebound effort against Allegheny, adding four assists, two steals and one blocked shot. Anna Henry
Women's Indoor Track & Field - Distance (1/22/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) finished first among attached runners in the 5000-meter run at the Otterbein Invitational with a personal-best time of 18:46. Shelby Kaho
Women's Indoor Track & Field - Sprints/Hurdles (1/15/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg freshman Shelby Kaho (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union) won the women's 60-meter hurdles at the Capital Challenge in her first collegiate race. Justen Cox

Sarah Watson
Women's Basketball (1/15/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Sarah Watson (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) led the Tigers in an upset victory over Denison, 59-57, with team-highs in points (14) and rebounds (8). It was Watson’s ninth double figure scoring output of the season and her fifth game with at least eight rebounds. She shot 46 percent (5-of-11) from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line, including knocking down a pair of free throws with 3:04 left in the contest that helped spark Wittenberg’s comeback victory over DU. Clayton Black
Men's Basketball (1/2/12 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Clayton Black (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) was named the MVP of the Charles B. Zimmerman Classic for the second straight year after he led the tournament in shooting at an 84 percent (16-of-19) clip. He also tied for the tournament lead with 21 rebounds and was second in scoring with 39 points. In four games combined over the holiday break, Black shot 63 percent (22-of-35) from the field and 70 percent (12-of-17) from the free throw line to go along with 31 rebounds and six assists. Josh McKee
Football (11/13/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Josh McKee (New Carlisle, Ohio/Tecumseh) hauled in 10 receptions for 199 yards and two scores in Saturday's 42-21 victory over Wooster to cap off one of the most decorated careers by a receiver in the 28-year history of the NCAC. McKee ends his impressive career as the league's all-time career leader in all three major receiving categories with 46 touchdowns, 234 receptions and 4,022 yards. Claire Shannon
Women's Swimming & Diving (10/30/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg junior Claire Shannon (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) won four events in two Tiger victories. She won the 200 (2:02.62) and 500 (5:34.63) freestyles in a 177-57 decision over Ohio Wesleyan, then took the 1000 (11:00.65) and 500 (5:24.28) freestyles in a 139-93 win over Wooster. Christine Simpson
Volleyball (10/30/11 — NCAC): Senior Christine Simpson (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) led the Tigers to a pair of conference victories, including a 3-1 decision over second-place Hiram, to clinch its 17th NCAC title. Zach Hurtt
Football (10/23/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior linebacker Zach Hurtt (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands) paced the Tigers' defensive unit after totaling 14 tackles (10 solo, 4 asst.), two pass break-ups and one interception in a 27-23 victory over Carnegie Mellon. Hurtt, who entered the contest ranked second in the NCAC and 25th in NCAA Div. III in tackles per game (11.14), has now reached double figures in tackles in six of Wittenberg's eight games in 2011. Elizabeth Dwyer
Field Hockey (10/9/11 — womensfieldhockey.com): Senior Elizabeth Dwyer (St. Louis, Mo./LaDue) earned her way onto the weekly Division III honor roll at womensfieldhockey.com by pouring in five goals and one assist last week. She hit the back of the net three times with one assist in a 7-0 decision over Earlham, and then scored both goals in a 2-1 overtime victory against Ohio Wesleyan. Men's Golf (10/4/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg junior Craig Osterbrock (Wilmington, Ohio/Wilmington) earned medalist honors at the Rosencrans Maurer Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg at Windy Knoll Golf Club. Mark Swope
Football (10/4/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg sophomore Mark Swope (Fairborn, Ohio/Fairborn) was all over the field for the Tigers in their 41-19 victory over Oberlin. He accumulated nine total tackles (4 solo, 5 asst), one and a half tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and one pass break-up on the afternoon. Cassie LythjOhioan
Women's Soccer (9/18/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg junior goalie Cassie Lythjohan (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) came up big in her only action last week as she posted a 1-0 shutout victory over ninth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan. Jordan Millice
Men's Golf (9/11/11 — NCAC): Wittenberg senior Jordan Millice (Cable, Ohio/Triad) secured medalist honors at the Denison Fall Classic after carding the fourth-best 36-hole round in school history with a two-day total of 140 (68-72). He helped the Tigers secure two school records at the event as well, as the two-round total of 567 eclipsed the former 36-hole school record of 585, and the final round 283 surpassed the former 18-hole school record by two strokes. Mark Swope
Football (9/7/11 — d3football.com): In his first collegiate start, sophomore safety Mark Swope (Fairborn, Ohio/Fairborn) shared the team lead with 11 tackles, including 10 solo tackles, and added two pass breakups. Christina Gilene
Volleyball (9/6/11 — d3vb.org): Junior Libero Christina Gilene (Milford, Ohio/McNicholas) of #5 Wittenberg has been named the first-ever D3VB Player of the Week. Gilene helped her squad go 3-0 at the Wittenberg National Invitational, including wins over #2 Emory and #6 Juniata. Gilene, a 2010 Honorable Mention All-Great Lakes Region selection, picked up 66 digs over the weekend for an average of six per set. She surpassed the 1,000-dig mark for her career in the Friday match-up with Emory, when she recorded one of her 27 digs. Gilene and teammate Katie Sumner were both named to the All-Tournament Team. Wittenberg is back in action on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Charlie Wrublewski Tournament hosted by Mount St. Joseph. Click here for d3vb.org home page.
Ben Zoeller
Football — Offense (9/6/11 — NCAC): Senior quarterback Ben Zoeller (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) racked up 456 passing yards and 460 total offensive yards to break the single-game school record in both categories in the Tigers 45-28 victory over Capital. Zoeller’s stellar game was highlighted by the second-longest pass play in school history, a 92-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Michael Cooper. Katie Sumner
Volleyball (9/6/11 — NCAC): Senior middle hitter Katie Sumner (Dublin, Ohio/Watterson) smashed 33 kills and finished with a .424 attack percentage as the Tigers got off to a 3-0 start. In decisions over two of the top six teams in the nation, Sumner totaled 13 kills on a .367 hit percentage with seven blocks in a win over second-ranked Emory, then hit .462 with 14 kills in a victory over sixth-ranked Juniata.
