Turf Enhancement Initiative

Support Excellence on the Field

Throughout its impressive history in athletics, Wittenberg’s Edwards-Maurer Field – named in honor of two of the best coaches Wittenberg and Division III have ever seen – has provided a platform for competition for multiple varsity sports programs at Wittenberg. Soccer, lacrosse, field hockey and football have relied on Edwards-Maurer Field for the at-home advantage.

Now that home finds itself feeling the well-worn effects of nearly a decade of play – effects that impact the performance, well-being, and training of our teams. As a university committed to student success, we value this facility as a key component of our students’ experience, which is why Wittenberg is launching Phase I of an athletics facility makeover that places the success of every scholar-athlete at its core.

Called the Turf Enhancement Initiative, the $750,000 project seeks to support everyone engaged in competition on Edwards-Maurer Field with replacement of the turf and renovation of the base and endzones. Funding for this effort has already spanned all levels and ages, but more is needed if Wittenberg is to make its goal by June 1, 2015.

Give to this important endeavor today, and help us extend our Tiger athletics tradition of excellence.

Thank you for participating in a project that focuses on the success and well-being of all scholar-athletes.
